Outline of the scientific program

The 22nd International Conference on Magnet Technology (MT-22) will take place September 11-16, 2011 in Marseille, France (Parc Chanot). The Conference is the major international forum for scientists and engineers to present and discuss the latest research results, ideas and developments in all areas of magnet technologies and their applications.

The MT-22 Conference will celebrate in 2011 the 100 years anniversary of the discovery of superconductivity and also 50 years of applied superconductivity.

The conference topics will include: magnets for accelerators and detectors, fusion magnets; high field magnets, NMR, medical and biological applications, permanent magnets, pulsed magnets, transportation, power and space applications, materials and conductors, heat transfer, stability and protection, design, analysis, measurements and instrumentation. Special presentations will discuss the impact of new magnet technologies in leading areas of science and industry.

920 abstracts have been already submitted. Among them the Scientific Program Committee has selected 150 oral papers which will be presented along the Conference, during 20 sessions.

About 850 papers will be presented during 4 poster sessions.

Each day of the Conference will be introduced by one or two plenary talks, highlighting the recent major progresses regarding magnet technology.

The list of the 7 plenary talks with their speakers is given hereafter.
